Birth Doula Training

Join us for a DONA-approved Birth Doula training, facilitated by Nikia Lawson, MA, BSW, BDT(DONA), CD(DONA), and mentored by Shannon Johns, CD(DONA), CLC, of Calming Nature Doula Center.

Postpatum Doula Training

Mentoring & Shadowing Program

2 Hour Orientation:

  • Overview of program

    • Build your clientele

3 Client Review:

  • Overview for each client that you will shadow

 

3 Prenatal appts per client:

  • Attendance at client prenatal appointments

  • Review of each appointment

 

3 Births:

  • Attendance during clients labor and birth

 

3 Postpartum appointment:

  • Attendance at 1 postpartum appointment

So you've completed your Doula training...Now what?

 

Where do you go from here. How do you obtain clients? What is your target market? How much can you charge? Who are your back-ups?

I designed this program to help assist new and inexperienced Doulas who need support moving forward after their training. The program will help you obtain clients, gain experience, and help jump start your path in the birthing community.

Fees:

​

$1200 with Medicaid billing workshop.

$1000 without Medicaid Billing workshop.  

$100 non-refundable deposit due when you sign your agreement. Remaining balance due 1 week prior to orientation.

*1 hour insurance billing workshop if you choose to enroll in Medicaid Workshop to be held, immediately after orientation. If not the workshop will be held on a separate day.*

*There is an option to sign as a contracted working Doula under Calming Nature Doula Center.*

Sponsored Doula Training 

We are excited to invite you to participate in our upcoming Doula Training, taking place from March 26th-March 28th 2025 at YWCA, The Lake Lodge, 185 E Terrace Ave, Lakewood, NY 14750. This intensive, three-day program will equip you with the essential skills and knowledge to become a compassionate and confident doula.

  • Time: 9am-6pm

What to Expect:

This comprehensive training will include:

  • 1 Day of Breastfeeding Education and Business Management (March 26th)

  • 2 Days of Birth Doula Training (March 27th-March 28th)
