Postpartum Support
Planning & Preparation!
The Mama Magic:
Doula Support Program
Mama Magic is a compassionate, family-centered program supporting birthing people and families during birth and the postpartum period—especially those facing barriers to care, limited resources, or added stress during pregnancy and early parenthood.
The program centers individuals who are disproportionately impacted by maternal health inequities, including Black and Brown families and those seeking culturally responsive, in-home perinatal support. Care is designed to meet families where they are, beginning in late pregnancy or at birth and continuing through the early postpartum period.
Participants receive emotional, physical, and educational support that promotes healing, confidence, and connection. Early support helps ease the transition into parenthood, encourages breastfeeding and bonding, and reduces isolation during a critical time.
As part of their participation, every enrollee receives a prenatal or postpartum gift, thoughtfully selected to support comfort, recovery, and early parenting needs.
All services are provided by a New York State–credentialed Postpartum Doula, ensuring high-quality, culturally responsive care grounded in best practices.

Our Purpose
While birth is often a moment of joy, the weeks and months following delivery can be physically, emotionally, and mentally overwhelming, particularly for families who are under-resourced. Mama Magic fills this gap by providing in-home and in-hospital doula support that promotes healing, empowerment, and stability during one of life’s most vulnerable transitions.

Physical Recovery Support
The program helps mothers understand how to heal from childbirth, regain strength, manage pain, and restore core and pelvic health through guidance on exercise, nutrition, and physical therapy resources. It incorporates and respects cultural practices and traditions that support recovery, honoring each mother’s unique background.

Emotional & Mental Wellbeing
The program helps mothers understand how to manage stress, postpartum mood changes, anxiety, and the emotional challenges of adjusting to life with a newborn. Connection with a supportive community helps reduce isolation. It fosters a culturally inclusive environment where diverse experiences and perspectives are acknowledged and celebrated.

Education & Empowerment
The program helps mothers understand newborn care, breastfeeding, self-care, and navigating life as a new parent, giving them confidence and control over their postpartum journey. It provides culturally sensitive guidance, empowering mothers from all backgrounds to make informed choices that align with their values.
